Evans Campus and its volunteers are delighted to
announce the 26th Annual African American
Heritage Festivities.
The historic event will take place September 20 &
21, 2014 and continue to engage the community in
celebrating African American Heritage.
All are invited to participate in these activities and
promote “building our future with a spirit of selfless
pride”.
AFRICAN AMERICAN HERITAGE FESTIVITIES
The activity of the African American Heritage
Family Picnic is presented by the UnityCDC and
National Hookup of Black Women, Joliet Chapter..
Bring your family to see the vendor expo, share
your recipes, enjoy authentic African American
creative arts and live entertainment, and take
advantage of free health and wellness screening,
register to vote and meet new friends in the
community. The picnic will be held Saturday,
September 20, 2014, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM at
Nowell Park, Doris Avenue Pavilion, Joliet, Il 60433
The 26th Annual African American Heritage
Parade will be a distinct presentation of authentic
African American cultures; showcasing African
American traditions, history and inspirations. This
presentation will be the framework for future African
American festivities.
The parade will be held Sunday, September 21,
2014, 2:45 PM at Joliet City Center.
We have also enhanced the festivities offered to
the community and the marketing options offered
to our sponsors, without whom we would not be
able to carry on this marvelous tradition. We invite
