The late Dave L. Evans (left) was the co-founder and
Chairman of Joliet Black pride Inc., established in 1987 to
promote the positive aspects of the African American
community.
Over the last 26 years, African American Heritage Parade
(formerly Black Pride Parade has sponsored parades,
recognition pinic's and , youth activities,.
Last year African American Heritage Parade had 86 units in
the parade, which made it one of the largest parades in Will
County.
All residents are invited to participate in these activities. As
long as the activity promotes positive aspects, your
participation is welcome. !
